Dice and dice games goes back to the Crusades, but current craps is approximately 100 years old. Current craps evolved from the ancient Anglo game referred to as Hazard. No one absolutely knows the ancestry of the game, although Hazard is said to have been invented by the Anglo, Sir William of Tyre, around the 12th century. It’s supposed that Sir William’s horsemen wagered on Hazard amid a siege on the castle Hazarth in 1125 AD. The name Hazard was gotten from the citadel’s name.

Early French settlers imported the game Hazard to Acadia. In the 18th century, when expelled by the British, the French headed down south and located sanctuary in southern Louisiana where they after a while became Cajuns.
